As a youngster, Justin’s mom taught him to bake. He was good at it.  He worked tirelessly to perfect his own recipes for his favorite desserts.

After deciding there was a need for a proper bakery in his hometown of VA, he was on a mission. He moved to NY and worked as a finisher at Baked in Brooklyn, further polishing his skills and preparing to start his own shop.

Justin returned to VA and started baking to order from his mom’s kitchen, using the same oven he learned on.  Word of mouth spread and orders started taking off. He found a small space to build his bakery in Arlington, and he built Bakeshop from scratch. Simple.
