7News (WJLA-TV) is looking for a creative and driven full-time Sports Photographer to join our award-winning team in one of the nation’s top 10 markets. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports storytelling, a strong eye for composition, and the hustle to chase compelling content under tight deadlines. Key Responsibilities:
- Shoot and edit daily sports stories and features, from locker rooms to live fields.
- Collaborate with reporters and producers to deliver compelling content across platforms.
- Cover breaking sports stories and press conferences with speed and accuracy.
- Edit on desktop and laptop-based non-linear systems using HD media cards.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays—especially during the NFL season.
- Maintain gear and ensure safe operation of ENG vehicles.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of ENG experience with a network-affiliated news organization.
- Proficient in non-linear editing systems (Avid Premiere preferred).
- Excellent visual storytelling skills and a strong understanding of sports.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic, fast-paced team.
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must be able to lift and carry 25–50 lbs regularly.
- A degree in journalism, communications, or a related field is preferred.
