PLEASE NOTE: This position is currently located at the Potomac Yards, VA EPA Office. However, this office will be moving to the Washington, DC EPA location in a few months. Current wage for the position is $12.72 but will increase to $14.00/hour once the move occurs (adhering to DC minimum wage.) Being Age 55 or Older is Good for The Environment! Work with the communications team to manage database -- track incoming press inquiries, correspondence and general projects. Assist the branch chief and ombudsman with special projects as assigned, including writing responses to external inquiries and developing communications materials. Assist with mail merges, finalizing and mailing correspondence, and assisting with other administrative tasks.
- Ombudsman support (Responding to questions from industry and the public) 50%

- Administrative support (mailing, printing, mail merge, other duties as assigned) 10%
BA/BS Degree in Communications, journalism, English, political science, biology, chemistry, environmental science, environmental studies, toxicology, and any related fields in the sciences, humanities, social sciences, or commuincations OR Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in Data Systems Administration, Public Relations, Journalism, Public Affairs, or Communications;
- Computer skills, writing, editing, customer service
- Experience required with MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Copying Machine, Scanner
- Any specific computer skills needed for database management.
