Suburban Animal Hospital is currently seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our busy, progressive, and fast-paced 6 doctor practice. We pride ourselves in providing high quality care with compassion for all involved. We strive to maintain a positive, fun, supportive work environment that you will enjoy! With state of the art equipment, we are able to offer a variety of services to our community. We are currently interested in full-time applicants with high-quality patient care and are very interested in applicants who are equally motivated. Salary is compensated depending on experience.

Suburban Animal Hospital is currently providing curbside service to clients due to COVID-19.

A successful Candidate:

  • Must be comfortable in the handling of dogs and cats during exams and procedures
  • Will be responsible for preparing exam room for appointments, to include cleaning and stocking.
  • Will be responsible for rooming patients, taking history, documenting reason for visit, weighing, taking temperature, pulse, and respiration of pet to assist doctor with examination.
  • Will assist in monitoring recovery of patients after procedures.
  • Will be comfortable with communicating doctor instructions for care and prevention to customer.
  • Qualifications:
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Professional and courteous
  • Prior work in the veterinary field or animal boarding/daycare
  • Veterinary medical knowledge is desired, basic anatomy, medications used and patient breeds
  • Adaptable, able to work well under pressure with multiple competing priorities.
  • Willingness to learn
  • Attention to detail
  • Adherence to procedures and protocols
  • Works well in team environment
  • Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Minimum High school degree
  • Prior client service experience in related area preferred
