This TALENT POOL will also staff our local offices- all clerks, office supervisors and field staff will also be selected from this new on-line recruiting portal. 

The process consists of:

  • applicant goes to the website and creates an account
  • applicant then gets an email from the on-line system with a link to the application and assessment
  • applicants complete the on-line application and take a short self-assessment.
  • **applicants interested in supervisory positions, in the office or the field, should also take the short supervisor self-assessment

    A brief job description: US Census is currently accepting applications for Recruiting Assistants for the 2020 Decennial Census. What do Recruiting Assistants do?
  • Help us get the word out about 2020 Census jobs.
  • Call on local organizations to request assistance in providing information about jobs to the people they serve.
  • Answer questions from the public about jobs, qualifications, and how to apply.
  • Conduct formal and informal presentations about 2020 Census jobs

    A Recruiting Assistant will contact local organizations, churches, schools and businesses to promote jobs with the Decennial Census. It is a work-from-home position but Recruiting Assistants (RAs) are always on the go attending job fairs, local festivals and celebrations to let people know both that the Census is hiring and how an applicant can apply. Each RAs receives formal classroom training and works under the guidance of their local Recruiting Manager.

    Applicants can go on line to: gov/jobs or call 1855-JOB-2020 for more information. We are hiring RAs all over the US, and anyone can access the on-line application to be considered for hiring in their area. Hourly wages vary according to geography and applicants can call the toll free number for information on pay rates in their community.
