Assists veterinarians in appointments by checking in patients, obtaining medical history, weight, temperature, taking exam notes during the examination, filling medications as needed, and checking in/out clients

Assists veterinarians in patient care and medical treatments including but not limited to medication administration, vaccine administration, acquiring blood, urine or feces for laboratory samples, running in-house laboratory tests or preparing samples for reference laboratory testing, performing radiographs, hospitalized patient care, and critical/emergency care

Assists veterinarians in surgery as assigned, including but not limited to anesthesia induction and monitoring of vitals, surgical preparation, dental prophylaxis, assistance with dental extractions, recovery from anesthesia, and ensuring the surgery schedule is completed smoothly and efficiently

Enters all charges and medical notes associated with surgery, ensures discharge instructions and medications are recorded and given to the client, performs post-surgery calls and follow-up calls to clients

Confident performing venipuncture and catheter placements, running lab work and reporting results back to the veterinarian

Other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the veterinary clinic
