Children’s International School – Teaching Position
Children’s International School based in Arlington, Virginia is seeking energetic, creative educator for our young toddler class. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children as they inquire about the world and explore their curiosities from their perceptive. The ideal candidate also has a strong understanding of child development, an excitement for learning, and is patient, calm, and flexible.
Children’s International School provides hands-on learning that addresses the whole child, with an emphasis on the Reggio Emilia philosophy and Creative Curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
To provide a warm, nurturing, and safe learning environment that encourages children to explore and grow.
To implement an intercultural curriculum that meets the social, physical, and emotional needs of a child.
To supervise, train and evaluate the Teacher's Assistant(s). To collaborate with Assistant(s) on curriculum development.
To direct the children and encourage them in their daily activities.
To maintain good communication with parents, teacher assistants, and Director.
To promote positive behavior and good social skills with the children by applying consistent techniques in accordance with licensing standards
To keep staff informed of program goals and developments.
To develop a cooperative and supportive attitude within the school.
Qualifications:
At least two years of teaching experience in a licensed preschool or childcare program
Relevant education background: CDA, AA, BS/BA in ECE or a child-related field
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Dependable, enthusiastic, and committed
Ability to record significant individual and group behavior.
Must be a US citizen
