JOB DESCRIPTION

 

 

Overview

 

Responsible for answering telephones, greeting visitors and providing support to the general office operations of the Company. Supports the smooth and efficient functioning of the office.

 

Essential Functions of Position:

 

Receptionist Duties

  • Answer phones
  • Transfer calls as appropriate
  • Accurately take and deliver messages
  • File property, accounting and burial documents
  • Receive and greet visitors
  • Answer questions regarding headstones
  • Assist visitors with locating gravesites
  • Receives flower deliveries and places them at gravesite
  • Prepares and maintains a professional office appearance
  • Respond to initial inquiries regarding cemetery history, regulations, pricing and general information on burial needs and processes, in person, over the phone or email
  • Respond to questions from lot owners, in person, over the phone, or email
  • Maintain and have readily available folders with price lists, maps and other information for provision to customers
  • Create and maintain files with property and interment record cards
  • Schedule appointments for property and burials. Maintain calendar for staff.
  • Update and keep current the employee, vendor and client list with recent address changes
  • Process mail and packages
  • Send client invoices as requested
  • Provide support for internal meetings
  • Maintain a professional office atmosphere

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word
  • Must be able to use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets
  • Must be able to occasionally lift packages, office products and supplies up to 20 pounds
  • While performing job will be required to talk, hear and communicate with others
  • Will be required to stand, walk, stoop and squat. Must be able to reach with hands and arms.
  • This is a full or part time position
  • Must be able to report to work on time and every day unless on approved leave
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment yet show empathy to customers
  • Must be able to change from one type of task to another with frequent interruptions
  • At least a high school diploma and experience handling the duties set forth above.

Salary negotiable based upon experience.
