Job Summary
Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! This position is located at Headquarters, Quantico, VA. Candidates selected for this position will serve as a Merchandise Pricing Specialist with the Merchandising Unit.
Major Duties
- Maintains accurate enterprise and local pricing in a timely manner.
- Develops and maintains retail statistical data utilized to ensure a competitive market.
- Prepares reports and participates in analysis of retail merchandise gross profit for individual Exchanges.
- Develops retail markups/pricing as directed for items of retail merchandise in assigned departments/classifications.
- Coordinates and maintains local pricing files and UPC files for Exchanges, etc.
- Inputs promotional pricing into pricing database in a timely manner.
- Creates promotional signage.
- Processes chargebacks for promotional scans in pricing database and sends chargeback invoices to Suppliers.
- Assists in reviewing and monitoring profits of Exchanges for assigned departments to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Analyzes management reports to identify incorrect pricing, markdowns and pricing related inquiries from the stores or vendor community.
- Takes necessary action to resolve discrepancies quickly and accurately.
- Applies judgment and experience in making decisions.
- Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.
- Assists field personnel and communicates in a positive and friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly.
- Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
- Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.
- This is white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Three years of experience demonstrating strong knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Excel to include spreadsheets, formulas, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and other analytical abilities within the program. Experience with applying knowledge of mechanics of purchasing, retail pricing and common business practices is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of buying office procedures. Experience maintaining and developing relationships with vendors and suppliers. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to work independently and assertively with vendor community.
