The Human Resources Specialist plays a critical role providing support and maintenance of the Human Resources Information System. This individual serves as a technical point of contact for functional areas and maintains the data integrity and report writing responsibilities of the HRIS in order to ensure effective and efficient support of HR processes. In addition, the Human Resources Specialist assists in the recruitment and onboarding of new hires, plans and executes employee events, and assists with the performance evaluation process.  

Essential Functions:
- Write, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools. Assist in the development of standard reports for ongoing customer needs
- Respond to ad hoc requests for data and/or reports; validating results to ensure consistency and accuracy of data
- Complete requests for RFP's, RFI's, client surveys and published surveys
- Affirmative action plan reporting and data analysis
- Benefit reporting including census reports, audit reports, non-discrimination testing and other benefit reports and reconciliation as required
- Ensure consistency of data in Headcount and FTE's between HR and Finance department 
- Routinely maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data
- Research and resolve HRIS problems and unexpected query results; Recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements
- Responsible for updating administrative leave and leave balance updates for employees on leave of absence, responding to inquiries regarding leave balances or other leave questions
- Assist with processing new hires and terminations in the HRIS 
Additional Duties: 
- Support HR department with on-boarding, recruitment, orientation processes
- Support HR department with yearly events such as open enrollment, year-end HRIS updates, annual evaluation process
- Assist in the planning and execution of employee relations events such as Staff Appreciation Week
- Bachelor's Degree
- Functional knowledge of HR operations and processes
- Superior skills in MS Office applications, particularly Excel
- Ability to appropriately download and manipulate data, set formulas and format reports
- Superior critical analytical skills in order to perform data quality checks and develop metrics
- Ability to exhibit discretion and handle confidential information at all times
- Ability to work on competing deadlines with high accuracy and attention to detail

*Legal idustry or Law Firm Experience preferred
