The Paralegal is responsible for handling projects and court filings for the lawyers in the Firm’s DC Office as well as those in other offices as needed.  The Paralegal will be responsible for legal research and compiling data from a variety of reference sources, document organization and/or retrieval.  The workload will vary based on client needs.


  • Conduct statutory, case law and fact research under the supervision of a lawyer for the Firm
  • Summarize depositions; prepare witness binders; organize and control deposition exhibits
  • Proofread prepared documents; cite check, shepardize, and “bluebook” citations; draft and/or review legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and other factual memoranda under the supervision of a lawyer for the Firm
  • Conduct file searches and assist with document review and various other tasks related to producing electronic and hard copy documents
  • Assemble and organize factual material in preparation for trials and hearings; organize and control trial exhibits
  • Review and organize documents to be filed with state or federal courts as well as government or administrative agencies; conduct filings


  • 2-4 years of paralegal experience
  • Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Understand legal concepts, terminology, principles and procedures, and possess knowledge of legal reference material
  • Outstanding organization, administrative, and communication (oral and written) skills
  • High attention to detail, strong work ethic and self-motivated
  • Knowledge of state and federal rules
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong skills in PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Flexibility for overtime
